A very common ecu for failing is the vauxhall Simtec 70 and Simtec 71 - Years 1999-2003.
Common failures are:
Misfire on different cylinders
No response to air flow
Throttle position sensor
General poor / rough running
Typical part numbers are
GM part no. 24 443 879 (Siemens Part No. 5wk9 196 ) or 9 09 10 15 22 4
GM Part no. 24 443 796 (Bosch 0 261 207 423 ) or 26sa8096
or
S 01 002 04 (Siemens Part no. 5wk9 154 ) or 09 158 689
